This book chronicles the adventures of “Joe Roberts” Caputo a teenage boy from Brooklyn whose dream was to own several gas stations, but an accident pushed him into a totally different and improbable direction. That resulted in a 50-year career in Broadcasting. As a disc jockey, he interviewed many of the recording artists of the day. By chance, he became host of “Golfing America and the World” on the Travel Channel, in which he went to exotic venues such as The French Riviera, Acapulco, Scotland, Ireland and other places. Golfers Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus , Phil Mickelson, Lee Travino was just some of the celebrities with whom he mingled, all with the purpose of improving the game of the average golfer. Among his many adventures were running for political office, becoming Honorary Chief of 12 volunteer Fire Departments, and hosting the NY Philharmonic before a crowd of 50,000.
This memoir of the published author of some ten novels (and counting) makes for reading that borders on fiction. But, it really happened.
